    • A Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR) and Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) theoretical knowledge and examination passes
    • Upon successful completion of the flight training with L3Harris Airline Academy, you will continue your training with Jetstar Asia to complete further advanced training including an A320 aircraft Type Rating

Jetstar Asia Cadet Training Programme (CAAS CPL/MEIR with ATPL)

In conjunction with L3Harris Airline Academy, Jetstar Asia is offering to select and guide you as you embark upon a unique route of training which will take you directly to the role of Junior First Officer on an Airbus A320.

This programme is currently closed but there are opportunities to fly for leading global airlines via our Integrated ATPL programme.

Programme overview

Jetstar Asia first took to the skies in December 2004. Jetstar Asia currently operates more than 600 weekly return flights to 25 destinations across 13 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region. In the most recent 2019 OAG report, Jetstar Asia were the top punctual low cost carrier (LCC) in Asia-Pacific and the 2nd most punctual LCC in the world. On the airline safety rating, Jetstar Asia has maintained the top 10 safest LCC in the last three consecutive years.

In conjunction with L3Harris Airline Academy, Jetstar Asia is offering to select and guide you as you embark upon a unique route of training which will take you directly to the role of Junior First Officer on an Airbus A320.

In order to accelerate our drive to be agile we have partnered with Revion Ground School in Singapore to conduct ATPL Theoretical Knowledge element. You will then join L3Harris Airline Academy where you will join fellow trainee airline pilots to experience the skies in this spectacular part of the world.

Jetstar Asia Cadet Training Programme (CAAS CPL/MEIR with ATPL)

Application and selection

To apply for the Jetstar Asia Cadet Training Programme you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must hold citizenship or permanent resident status
  • For male candidates, have either completed, be in the process of completing, or be exempt from, National Service (NS)
  • Be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of training
  • Hold or be able to obtain a valid CAAS Class 1 Medical Certificate (with no limitations) prior to commencement of training
  • Good vision acuity of at least 6/60 without optical aid, correctable to 6/6 and not colour blind
  • Produce a police check/basic fisclosure certificate before the final interview stage of selection
  • Be fluent in the English language to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) level 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, and level 5.5 overall, or equivalent standard
  • GCE ‘O- level or above with a minimum of 5 credits in GCE ‘O’ level or its equivalent at one sitting. These must include English, Mathematics and a Science subject, preferably Physics
  • Physically and mentally fit

Selection

Like all of our programmes, we undertake a rigorous selection process to support you on your onward journey to the flight deck:

  • Your application will be screened by a member of the L3Harris Airline Academy selection team
  • You will be contacted by email by our selection team to inform you whether your application has been successful
  • If successful, you will be invited to attend a selection day. This will take place in Singapore
  • The final phase of the selection for short-listed candidates will be an airline interview with Jetstar Asia in Singapore

As assessment dates are limited, we recommend early bookings. We encourage you to monitor these dates and your application if you are interested to be part of this programme.

Finance and funding

The fee required for the CPL/MEIR course with L3Harris Airline Academy is NZ$162,150.00, paid in five instalments over the duration of your training.
