Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway

From Student to Professional Airline Pilot

Students enrolling in our Accelerated Airline Pilot Track can apply to the Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway program. Successful completion of this pathway program takes you directly from student pilot to Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), and then to First Officer with Spirit flying an Airbus A320!

How the Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway Program Works

Step 1 - NOW - Enroll at L3Harris

Enroll in the Accelerated Airline Pilot Track. This program includes airline-oriented training that takes you to CFI in as little as 12 months.

Step 2 - Build your experience as a CFI

All student pilots completing our AAPT program are guaranteed an interview to become a CFI with L3Harris, so you can earn money while building flight hours.

Step 3 - 500 hours - Apply to the Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway program

At 500 hours flying time, eligible candidates can apply for the Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway program. If qualified, applicants are eligible to interview with Spirit. Selected candidates join the Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway program where they will be offered training opportunities and engagement with the Flight Ops team.

Successful candidates will be given a Conditional Offer of Employment (COE) contingent upon completing L3Harris’s ATP/CTP course and A320 specific Jet Transition training, in addition to meeting program requirements set by Spirit.

Step 4 - 1,500 hours - Fly as a First Officer for Spirit

Upon successfully reaching 1,500 hours and meeting all training requirements, you will be hired by Spirit as a First Officer! You will be offered a training class within 60 days of meeting all prerequisites.
